Today the Express website carried a story about yesterday’s All Under One Banner march in Glasgow with the headline

Scottish nationalists CLASH with pro-Union activists at independence march in Glasgow

This headline implies that there was fighting or disturbances between the indy marchers and the unionist protesters, but as we all know the marched passed peacefully with no trouble at all. Indeed the article itself makes no mention of any trouble or disturbances which means that the headline is in breach of clause 1(i) of the editor’s code which states:

“The Press must take care not to publish inaccurate, misleading or distorted information or images, including headlines not supported by the text”.

The article also featured the following image with the caption “Many of them carried a mixture of Scottish and EU flags”. As you can see the image contains 0 Scottish flags, 1 EU flags and 6 Union flags, so we have yet another inaccuracy.

I urge you all to make a formal complaint to the Independent Press Standards Organisation regarding this breach of the editor’s code by the Express and I’ll set out the procedure below (it only takes about 5 minutes to do).

The Unionist establishment obviously know that independence is coming and are running scared so expect many more dirty tricks like this to come.
